Smiley gave birth to her beloved daughter on May 9, 2016, and she genuinely enjoyed being a devoted mother. She was no stranger to caring for precious children; by heart, being a dear mother came naturally. Smiley will consistently be the butterfly to use all as we put forward our most admirable efforts to keep her daughter safe and out harms way.

The precious baby was born two months prior to Smiley's being shot in the head by her daughter's father. On July 30, 2016, so many lives were altered due to domestic violence and senseless gun violence. Unfortunately, princess Blake will never know her dear mother growing up; it would be the responsibility of the village, family, friends and supporters that we continually celebrate Smiley's life, love, and legacy.
Between 2016-2020, there were 68 homicides in the District of Columbia that were determined to be linked to domestic violence.
Smile4Smiley Love Movement took approximately 6 years to grieve through this tragedy which helped us all to understand that death is vapor. The grief circle support gave us a deeper connection into creating healthy ways to grieve, such as remembering our memories with Smiley.
